SACI MFA and Post-Bac Students are collaborating with LUCIA Festival in Florence, a three-day international festival dedicated to the craft of audio storytelling in radio and podcasting.
On Thursday, December 12th at 5:00 pm at Manifattura Tabacchi, Ariana Martinez will be in conversation with Eleanor McDowall. Ariana Martinez is an audio artist whose creative practice spans across audio and visual work in an attempt to understand the relationships between people and places. Eleanor McDowall is the founder of Radio Atlas - an English language home for subtitled audio. She is also a Director at the British independent radio production company - Falling Tree Productions.
After the conversation, we will show the last chapter of Ariana's No Hay Palabras, To cross the Water, a personal story on the backdrop of post-hurricane Puerto Rico.
On Friday, December 13th at 4pm in SACI Clayton Hubbs Lecture Hall (Via Sant'Antonino 11), we will present Black Narratives: art as political as poetical, a lecture-performance by author and performer Fallon Mayanjaan, who works on staging hybrid bodies and voices. Fallon Mayanja's work, a place of sound and visual composition, is the result of experiments and dialogues created with and by technological tools. In collaboration with BHMF.
