ANCIENT ROOTS, MODERN BRANCHES is a boutique gallery exhibit of artisanal jewelry in partnership with NYC Jewelry Week, which welcomes arts and culture enthusiasts who come together to explore the multifaceted jewelry industry. ANCIENT ROOTS, MODERN BRANCHES presents the work of three independent goldsmiths: Tess Sholom, Jorge Alva, and Aviva Shapiro. These artists design and create jewelry by heating, forging, and transforming ingots of high-karat gold. By using the ancient art and techniques of goldsmithing, their work explores, manifests, juxtaposes, and reconciles both ancient and contemporary aesthetics which has led them to experiment with textured gold surfaces and granulation, fused with organic forms and modernist motifs.

Join us for the opening reception on November 19th at 5:30pm. This special exhibition at the SACI New York Gallery will offer a variety of jewelry designs available for purchase at different prices. Exhibiting jewelry designers will be present to assist with purchases throughout the week of November 19 - 23.
