Florence Be Kind to Me, a new video by SACI DIS instructor Tommaso Bernabei, was featured in Repubblica.it, a national Italian news platform.
The video, directed by Tommaso Bernabei for UnePassante and choreographed by Paolo Ermanno Vecchione, was created for singer Giulia Sarno, a native Sicilian who has made Florence her home.
Shot at night in various locations around the city, the video depicts dancers interacting with the streetlights of Florence, presenting a living pulse of the city through the connection between architecture and the dancers’ bodies. The video was partially shot in the SACI Garden at Palazzo dei Cartelloni (min 1:32). SACI student Meaghan Sweeney had the unique opportunity to partake in the creation of the project and get a behind-the-scenes look at the process, working side-by-side with Bernabei and Vecchione, project assistants, and featured dancers.
