This field trip is required for students enrolled in Early Renaissance Art History who do not have a Friday afternoon class and open to all students who do not have a Friday afternoon class.
Students meet at Piazza Duomo between the Baptistery and the Cathedral. Lasts until 5:30 pm. Students can optionally remain until 6:30 pm to listen to the Gregorian chants.
The church of San Miniato is one of Florence's oldest buildings which, together with the Baptistery, became a point of departure for Florentine architectural styles and was much admired in the Renaissance. The church is located on a hill to the south of the town from where there are splendid views of the whole city.
