Marie Claire publishes work by Alexandra Wong, MFA in Communication Design student

Congratulations to Alexandra Wong, second-year student in the MFA in Communication Design program at SACI, whose work was published in the January 2018 issue of Marie Claire Italy.

Her piece, a watercolor illustration for a two-page editorial, was commissioned after a meeting with Wong and the magazine's Art Director. The meeting was set up by SACI Design Instructor Michael Loos during their collaboration for Wong’s second-year Directed Independent Study.

The story, "Tutto Inizò con un Reggiseno” (It All Began with a Bra), is about a transgender woman who chose to transition at the age of 39. A professor from a traditional family, she had resisted coming out for quite sometime. When she finally did, she was accepted, but realized she had to find her own path as a woman.

Alexandra Wong is an illustrator and designer based in Florence, Italy. Find out more about her work on her website.
