Columbus Discovers Italy: CCAD Faculty Exhibition

The SACI Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of artwork by three members of the faculty of the Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD): Char Norman, Helen Hoffelt, & Doug Norman. Columbus Discovers Italy includes digital prints, drawings, paintings, and sculptures that evoke layers of Italian history and culture as seen by these artists, who are all from Columbus, Ohio.

Char Norman is a fiber artist who specializes in papermaking and fiber sculpture. A former artist-in-residence at Studio Arts Center International, she received her BFA from Scripps College and her MFA from Claremont Graduate University. She has lectured and exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally. She has developed and conducted workshops for all ages, worked as a consultant to area schools and community arts organizations, and is now the Associate Provost at Columbus College of Art & Design, where she is also an associate professor.

Helen Hoffelt is an artist and associate professor at Columbus College of Art and Design, where she teaches photography. A former visiting instructor at Studio Arts Center International, she received her BFA from Columbus College of Art and Design and her MFA from State University of New York at Buffalo. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the U.S. and has appeared in various publications.

Doug Norman is an artist and professor at Columbus College of Art and Design, where he teaches painting and drawing. He has been a visiting instructor at Studio Art Centers International and Xi'an Academy of Fine Art in Xi'an, China. His artwork has been featured in invitational and juried exhibitions both regionally and nationally. He received his BA from California State University, San Diego and his MFA from Claremont Graduate University.

 

La Galleria SACI è onorata di presentare una mostra di opere artistiche di tre membri della facoltà del Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD): Char Norman, Helen Hoffelt, & Doug Norman. Columbus Discovers Italy include stampe digitali, disegni, quadri e sculture che evocano strati di storia e cultura italiani, visti attraverso gli occhi di questi artisti provenienti da (CCAD) a Columbus, Ohio, che dal 1879 si dedica alle discipline artistiche: disegno grafico e pubblicità, disegno industriale, interior design, illustrazione, media  e belle arti.

Char Norman è un’artista specializzata nella fabbricazione di carte e in sculture cartacee. Ex-artista residente presso Studio Arts Center International, ha ricevuto una Laurea in Belle Arti dallo Scripps College ed un Master in Belle Arti dal Claremont Graduate University. Ha insegnato ed esibito le proprie opere sia sul suolo nazionale che a livello internazionale. Ha sviluppato e condotto workshop per persone d’ogni età, lavorato come consulente di scuole della sua area geografica e per organizazzioni artistiche comunitarie, ed è oggi l’Associate Provost alla Columbus College of Art & Design, dove è anche professoressa associata.

Helen Hoffelt è un’artista e professoressa associata presso la Columbus College of Art and Design, dove insegna fotografia. Ex-istruttrice in visita presso Studio Arts Center International, ha ottenuto la sua Laurea in Belle Arti presso la Columbus College of Art and Design ed un Master in Belle Arti dalla State University of New York di Buffalo. Le sue opere sono state esposte in numerose mostre statunitensi sia individuali che di gruppo e sono state pubblicate all’interno di diversi volumi.

Doug Norman è un’artista e professore associato presso la Columbus College of Art and Design, dove insegna pittura e disegno. E’ stato istruttore in visita presso Studio Art Centers International e anche presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti Xi'an a Xi'an, in Cina. Le sue opere sono state esposte in mostre sia ad invito che con giuria a livello regionale e nazionale. Ha ottenuto la sua Laurea in Belle Arti presso la California State University, San Diego ed un Master in Belle Arti dalla Claremont Graduate University.
