Field trip to Fiesole (for students not taking Art History)

Late Spring 2017

(SACI is closed)

Sunday, May 21, 10:00 am ~ Field trip to Fiesole for students not taking Art History—with Federica Bustreo.  Students meet outside front door at SACI’s Palazzo dei Cartelloni.

You will visit the Cathedral, the excavation of the Etruscan and Roman town of Fiesole, including the Roman theater, Roman bath complex and temple, and you will walk up to the Gothic Church of San Francesco to see the marvelous view of the city of Florence below.

Please remember that Italian churches request that visitors have their shoulder and thighs covered and that hats not be worn inside. As a courtesy to these local customs, which may well differ from those of houses of worship back home, please avoid dresses with shoulder straps, or skirts/shorts above the knee. An easy solution is to bring a scarf to cover your shoulders and/or legs when entering the churches.
