Welcome to the Parents section of the SACI website!  Here you will find information of special interest to parents of prospective and current SACI students—information that will broaden and deepen your understanding of “the SACI experience” and help you support your son or daughter in preparing to study at SACI and throughout his or her time in Florence.

SACI, which was founded in 1975 and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), is a non-profit university-level educational institution.  Our goal is to provide a unique, life-enhancing study-abroad experience in the center of Florence for students of both traditional and contemporary studio arts and design. SACI students create in each studio course a unique body of work instrumental to their developing outstanding portfolios.

Studying at SACI will offer your son or daughter direct access to centuries of Florentine and Italian culture; a wide range of art and design studios and complementary academic courses of outstanding quality; an opportunity to be part of an institution engaged in leading areas of research and exploration; and an unparalleled opportunity to interact with the Florentine community through a variety of social and humanitarian programs.

In this section of the SACI website, you will find information about traveling to Florence and living in this beautiful Renaissance city as a student (including details on healthcare, safety, banking and communications); cost of attendance; obtaining a student visa, and many other matters of interest to parents.  We hope that the information in this section will enable you to gain greater insight regarding Studio Arts College International so that, even if a continent away, you’ll be better able to support and share in your son’s or daughter’s experience abroad.
